設計問題 Problems

文化快步是一個體驗式學習活動,根據我們的早前研究成果設計,旨在促進本地港人與巴基斯坦社群之間的種族共融。活動結合了角色扮演、城市定向及文化任務,幫助本地參加者提升文化勝任力(Cultural Competence)。

然而,活動仍需要一套視覺識別系統傳達其文化價值及互動特色。設計挑戰在於如何打造一個既能貼近本地中學生,又尊重巴基斯坦文化,又具辨識度的視覺風格。

Cultural Run is an experiential learning campaign, built upon our earlier research, aimed at promoting ethnic inclusion between local Hongkongers and the Pakistani community. It comprises role-play, city hunt, and cultural tasks to foster local Chinese participants’ Cultural Competence.

There remains a need for a visual identity that communicates the campaign’s cultural value and interactive nature. The challenge lies in crafting a visual system that is appealing to local Chinese students, respectful of Pakistani culture, and distinctive.

我們將活動命名為「文化快步(Cultural Run)」,並且設計了一套融入巴基斯坦文化元素的 Key Visual。名稱既簡單易記,又能配合視覺設計傳達活動性質。其中「文化」化表了巴基斯坦文化、以及參加者能夠提升的文化勝任力;「快步」則代表城市定向中,主動走進巴基斯坦社區探索文化的的遊戲形式。

We named the campaign “Cultural Run”, accompanied by a key visual that incorporates elements of Pakistani culture. The name is simple and memorable, and it aligns with the visual design to convey the nature of the event. “Cultural” refers to both Pakistani culture and the cultural competence participants can gain, while “Run” represents the city hunt game format and the action of proactively entering the Pakistani community for cultural exploration.

為了吸引中學生參加者,Key Visual 採用插畫風格,描繪出多個呈奔跑姿態的巴基斯坦角色。他們所穿的服飾和手持的道具都演繹出鮮明的文化特色與生活情形。色彩方面,我們參考了傳統巴基斯坦藝術風格,選用五彩斑斕的圖案突顯民族風情

To attract secondary school students, the key visual adopts an illustrative approach featuring Pakistani characters in running postures. Their costumes and the objects they hold reflect distinct cultural traits and aspects of daily life. Drawing inspiration from traditional Pakistani art, we incorporated vibrant, multicolored patterns to highlight the ethnic charm.

Logo 以 Wordmark 形式展示「文化快步」的標題。筆劃的粗幼變化和裝飾參考了阿拉伯字體,筆劃末端的尖銳線條象徵著奔跑的速度,字型大小的層次變化也為設計注入動感與活力。

The logo presents the title “Cultural Run” in a wordmark format. The variation in stroke thickness and decoration is inspired by Arabic typography, with sharp terminals of the strokes symbolizing the speed of running. The use of different font sizes adds dynamism and vibrancy to the design.

每個角色手持與其生活習俗及信仰相關的代表性物件:父親握著板球拍、母親托著咖哩、孩子抱著《古蘭經》。這些插畫與 Logo 和圖案相互呼應,共同構築出兼具文化深度與視覺張力的品牌識別系統。

Each character carries a significant item representing their daily lives and religion—the father with a cricket bat, the mother with a curry bowl, and the child holding the Quran. These illustrations integrate perfectly with the logo and patterns to form a cohesive visual identity that is both culturally resonant and aesthetically striking.

當兩個文化有共同主題和價值觀,彼此會更樂意互動和認識。因此,我們設計了一系列 A3 尺寸的海報,通過突顯以下香港和巴基斯坦文化之間的相似之處,促進種族融合:

  • 珍珠奶茶與混合香料茶(Masala Tea)與的茶飲文化
  • 長洲太平清醮與穆斯林齋戒月的齋戒傳統
  • 康樂棋與彈戲(Carrom)的桌上遊戲文化

When two cultures share common motifs and values, they are more willing to engage and understand one another. To facilitate this intercultural dialogue, we designed a series of A3 posters revealing the following cultural parallels between Hong Kong and Pakistan:

  • The tea cultures of bubble tea and masala tea
  • The fasting traditions of Cheung Chau Bun Festival and Ramadan
  • The tabletop games of Chinese checkers and carrom

活動的其中一個實踐類別的文化任務是製作混合香料茶,也是文化融合的重要環節。參加者將推著特別設計的「文化點心車」,向本地市民推廣巴基斯坦的飲茶文化。這輛點心車採用了融合設計——將巴基斯坦浮誇的卡車藝術(Truck Art)風格,與傳統港式點心車結構相結合,車身同時展示「文化快步」的視覺元素。

One of the practical cultural tasks at the event was making masala tea, which served as a key component of Cultural Integration. Participants would carry the specially designed “Cultural Dim Sum Car” to promote Pakistani tea culture to local residents. It features a fusion design—blending Pakistani bold Truck Art style with traditional Hong Kong-style dim sum car structures, while displaying visual elements of Cultural Run.

頭巾 Hijab 是參加者的重要配飾,因為女性穆斯林進入清真寺時必須遮蓋頭髮。我們推出了兩款設計,一款比較傳統,以黑色為主;另一款用色比較繽紛,與活動的 Key Visual 相呼應。

The hijab serves as an essential accessory for participants, in accordance with the Islamic practice of hair covering for women when entering mosques. We created two distinct designs: a black version attributing to the traditional religious customs, and a multicolored version that aligns with the event’s key visual.
